Wait Time FAQs

  1. Can I use the same wait time item more than once in a learning program?
No. Wait times, just like all other content items, can only appear once in any learning program. If you want additional wait times in a learning program, you must create multiple wait time items and give them unique names.

  2. What happens when I have a syllabus before a wait time?
Since the syllabus can remain open the entire time the learning program is open, both the syllabus and the wait time will be open at the same time.

  3. If a user is assigned two learning programs that contain the same wait time, will completing one wait time automatically complete the other?
Yes, since the wait time is a piece of content, if it resides in more than one learning program, completing it once completes it in all those learning programs.

  4. If I give credit for a wait time, what does the Individual Training Status Report (ITSR) look like?
The ITSR will show the date the wait time was credited as well as the name of the person giving credit, just like any other content item does.

  5. Can I add Spanish instructions?
Yes. Follow the same steps you would when adding any other Spanish content type. When the user clicks ESP, they will see the Spanish title on their My Training page.

  6. How does the wait time process know when to unlock an item?
The system checks wait time expiration times every five minutes. Any “lag” that occurs for wait times that fall between those five minute intervals will never exceed 4 minutes and 59 seconds beyond the original expected time.

  7. How long can the title and instructions be?
The title can be up to 75 characters and the instructions can be up to 250 characters.
